JEE Main 2027 registration for Session 1 is open, with the normal application window running from 24 October to 22 November 2026. NTA’s notice also lists a separate late-submission window. Students should distinguish those dates, select the intended paper and preserve the final confirmation record.
Checked 28 October 2026 against NTA’s 24 October notice. Dates below concern Session 1, held in January 2027.

The official application notice lists Session 1 examination dates as 20, 21, 22, 23, 24 and 28 January 2027. A candidate’s individual date and shift should come from the relevant official document, rather than an assumption based on this overall list.
Reach the application through the official JEE Main portal. Keep the normal deadline as your working target instead of relying on the later paid window.
Choose the paper that serves your intended course
The notice distinguishes Paper 1 for B.E./B.Tech from Paper 2A for B.Arch and Paper 2B for B.Planning. The bulletin governs the full requirements and examination arrangements.
Write down the course you intend to pursue before selecting the application options. Similar names do not make the papers interchangeable.
If a student is considering more than one course, compare the official paper requirements first. Avoid treating a coaching timetable or a friend’s form as the authority for that decision.
Follow the one-application instruction
NTA’s notice says a candidate should submit only one application. It also explains that a separate opportunity for Session 2 will be provided later.
A second application is therefore not a casual repair method for an error. Use the official correction or support process applicable to the issue.
Keep the application number securely so that you can return to the existing record. A clear filing system reduces the chance of confusing registration for this examination with another entrance test.
Prepare a document and contact-information checklist
Read the current bulletin’s upload instructions before preparing files. Then check that each file belongs to the candidate and that its content is legible.
| Information area | What to compare |
|---|---|
| Identity | Name and other entries against requested records |
| Education | Qualification information against the current rules |
| Contact details | Candidate or parent/guardian details allowed by the notice |
| Paper selection | Intended course and selected examination |
| Uploads | Current format, size and readability instructions |
This is our preparation worksheet, not a substitute for the official document list. The notice specifically says contact details must belong to the candidate or permitted parent/guardian.
If a service centre assists with the form, ask to review the preview before submission. Retain access to the contact channels through which official communication will arrive.
Check payment and confirmation together
The official application service separates registration, form completion, fee payment and downloading the confirmation page. Treat completion as a sequence with a record at the end.
Keep the payment reference and confirmation page together. A bank debit may help trace a transaction, but it should not replace checking the application’s recorded status.
Where a problem appears, note the exact message before seeking official help. Repeatedly starting again without understanding the existing record can create confusion rather than resolve it.
Make registration a bounded task
Set aside one uninterrupted period for the application and another short period for checking it. Keep examination preparation separate from chasing forwarded updates.
Our guide to building a small study routine explains how to make the next study session easy to start. The critical-thinking guide can help you assess unofficial examination claims.
Save the right deadline for the right stage
The normal window, late window and correction period perform different functions. A correction period should not be assumed to accept a fresh application.
Start from the current portal, read the Session 1 notice and retain the completed record. Check later NTA announcements for changes before making travel arrangements or relying on a date from a forwarded message.
