Updated 7 October 2026. Meta AI is an assistant available through WhatsApp for supported users. This guide describes documented uses and a cautious way to try them. It is not a hands-on test, an endorsement or a promise that every feature is available on every account.
What Meta documents
In its June 2024 India launch announcement, Meta described asking questions, getting suggestions and generating images through its assistant, including use in WhatsApp. That announcement is historical; it does not establish today’s interface or language support for every user.
Check WhatsApp’s current Meta AI product page for the feature being promoted and your own app for actual availability. A promotional announcement is not proof of answer accuracy or a measured productivity improvement.
Try a task you can check
- Use the official WhatsApp app and locate the Meta AI entry if it is available to you.
- Start with a low-risk request, such as drafting a polite event reminder using details you provide.
- Specify the audience, language and length. Avoid including private details you do not need to share.
- Read the answer before sending it. Check names, dates, amounts and any factual additions.
- If it misunderstands, clarify one part of the request. If accuracy remains uncertain, use a reliable source directly.
Example prompt: “Draft a short Hindi reminder for a study group meeting on Saturday at 4 pm. Leave the location as [location]. Do not add other details.” This is an illustrative prompt, not a test result.
Personal chats and AI conversations are different
WhatsApp’s explanation of its AI experiences distinguishes personal-message protection from information shared with AI. Do not assume that the privacy of a conversation with another person automatically describes how an AI interaction is handled. Read the current notice for the particular feature before sharing information.
Avoid putting passwords, OTPs, confidential client information or another person’s private records into a prompt. In a group, consider other participants’ privacy before asking an assistant to use shared material.
Where an answer needs independent verification
- Jobs: open the recruiter’s original notice before accepting a vacancy, fee or deadline.
- Health: do not use a generated answer as a diagnosis or a reason to change medicine.
- Money: check official terms and fees; a confident answer is not a return guarantee.
- Current events: inspect a dated primary source rather than assuming the answer is live.
- Study: compare an explanation with your textbook or course material and check the steps yourself.
If a feature is missing
Check the official help information and whether your installed app is current. Do not install a modified app or pay someone promising to unlock an AI feature. A feature being announced does not establish that your region, language or account has access.
Correction: unnamed expert predictions, unsupported worldwide-availability claims and claims about replacing search have been removed. Documented features are attributed to Meta rather than presented as Daily Trend Hub’s testing.
If a message or call pressures you to disclose account information, read our voice-phishing and account-security guide; an AI feature does not establish that a request is authentic.
