Who won the IPL 2026 final?

Royal Challengers Bengaluru beat Gujarat Titans by five wickets at the Narendra Modi Stadium. GT finished on 155/8; RCB reached 161/5 with 12 balls remaining. This was RCB’s second title and a successful defence of their championship, according to the official IPL final report.

Virat Kohli finished unbeaten on 75 from 42 balls. Washington Sundar’s unbeaten 50 from 37 deliveries was GT’s main resistance. Those figures help explain the contest more directly than an undated claim that particular stars were “dominating” the season.

Completed league-stage standings

How to read these standings

The league table and the final answer different questions. The table records performance across the league phase; the final decides the championship. Do not add playoff wins to a team’s league-table points.

RCB, GT and SRH each finished with 18 points. Their displayed net run rates were +0.783, +0.695 and +0.524 respectively. Points alone therefore do not tell you the order in which those three finished. Net run rate is a scoring-rate measure, not a percentage chance of winning the next match.

When checking an old screenshot, compare the season, matches played and points with the official table. A screenshot taken after ten matches is an earlier snapshot even if it carries the same “IPL 2026” heading.

Season leaders

The official IPL season summary lists Vaibhav Sooryavanshi as Orange Cap winner with 776 runs in 16 matches, and Kagiso Rabada as Purple Cap winner with 29 wickets in 17 matches. These are season totals; the match counts include their playoff appearances.

Correction, 6 October 2026: the earlier article described an ongoing playoff race without an actual table or match results. It has been replaced with the completed-season figures. Generic fan-reaction claims, traffic advice and fantasy-gaming promotion have been removed.
