XREAL AURA: Price, Launch Markets and India Checks

XREAL AURA conceptual editorial illustration of transparent XR glasses connected by a cable to a separate computing puck.

XREAL AURA orders opened on 28 October in the United States, Canada and Korea, with Japan following on 2 November. India is not among the markets named in Google’s launch announcement, so an Indian launch date or official local price should not be assumed.

The official Google announcement describes wired Android XR glasses with transparent lenses and a separate computing puck. Orders, shipment and local retail availability are different milestones.

The announced dollar price is not an Indian landed-cost quotation. Before comparing an overseas offer, identify the exact configuration, seller, delivery destination and what the quoted amount includes.

Understand the split-compute design

Google says the glasses weigh under 95 grams, with the battery and heavy processing in the connected puck. Its launch post lists a 70-degree field of view, Gemini integration and support for Android and XR applications.

The manufacturer’s product page lists the frame at 95 grams and the computing puck at 265 grams. It also describes fit options, input methods and ports, which are useful checks before treating a headline frame weight as the weight of the whole kit.

For your own evaluation, picture where the puck and cable would sit during the activity you actually care about. A device that works comfortably at a desk may create a different cable-management problem on a sofa or an airplane tray.

This is a practical fit question, not a hands-on comfort verdict from us. If a demonstration or return option is available to you, use it to test the task and wearing position you expect to use most often.

Check laptop mirroring at the port level

Google’s Wired Mirroring description requires a USB-C connection that supports video output. A USB-C-shaped socket or charging cable alone should not be treated as proof that the complete laptop, port and cable combination supports the needed video connection.

Before buying, find your laptop’s exact model and the specification for the port you plan to use. Save that information beside the accessory specification rather than relying on a general statement that a laptop has USB-C.

Then list the rest of the intended setup: power, keyboard or mouse, the applications you need and any workplace restrictions. This makes it easier to identify an unresolved dependency before spending money on the display hardware.

What Indian buyers should ask an overseas seller

Ask for a written explanation of shipping, import-related charges, returns, warranty territory and the process for a faulty unit. Keep any answer tied to the actual seller and product configuration; a general international shipping claim does not answer every one of those questions.

Compare the total amount you would pay with the practical cost of resolving a return. If the seller cannot explain how a warranty claim would be handled from India, record that uncertainty rather than assigning it a zero cost.

Check the applications and account services you intend to use separately from the hardware order. Availability of a device in one market should not be used to assume that every media subscription or feature has identical regional terms.

Evaluate the task, not only the specification

Choose one realistic task for a demonstration: reading a work document, arranging windows or watching the type of content you normally use. Check legibility, fit and the input method together instead of testing each as an isolated specification.

For work involving confidential material, ask what permissions the relevant AI and application features require, and check your organization’s policy before using them. A private display and permission to process a document are separate questions.

Our ambient computing guide offers a broader way to assess useful automation and privacy choices. Apply those questions to a specific workflow before deciding that a new device will replace an existing one.

Daily Trend Hub has not performed a hands-on AURA review. This report explains the published launch information and the unresolved buying questions, rather than rating battery life, comfort or display quality from personal testing.
