Financial Inclusion Camps 2026 run under a nationwide campaign from 21 October to 31 December. Banks are using local camps to help eligible people access financial-inclusion schemes and address account-service gaps such as pending KYC and nominations.
The Department of Financial Services announcement says the campaign is intended to cover 2.70 lakh Gram Panchayats and Urban Local Bodies. That is the campaign’s coverage plan, not a statement that every location has a camp open every day.
Financial Inclusion Camps 2026: which service do you need?
| Your reason for visiting | Service to ask the bank about |
|---|---|
| You need a basic banking route | PMJDY account-opening eligibility |
| You want insurance information | PMJJBY or PMSBY conditions |
| You want pension-scheme information | APY eligibility and contributions |
| Your existing account needs attention | Re-KYC, pending C-KYC or nomination |
| You are an eligible farmer seeking credit | KCC application support |
| You need help understanding old deposits | Unclaimed-asset guidance |
The national campaign also includes digital-fraud awareness and specified agriculture-related services. Confirm the available services with the local organiser before travelling.
Find a real local date and organiser
Start with your bank branch, the local administration or the relevant lead-bank office. Ask for the venue, date, participating bank and the particular service you need, rather than assuming a national campaign announcement is a local appointment.
A 30 October PIB report from Kalewal, Mohali describes a PNB-organised camp with several account and scheme services. It is one local example; readers in another district should obtain their own confirmed schedule.
Write down the information you receive and the source that gave it. If a forwarded poster differs from the branch’s answer, clarify the discrepancy through an official contact before making travel arrangements.
Prepare documents around one clear request
Ask the bank what documents are required for your specific transaction. An account update, a new account and an insurance enrolment can involve different forms and checks, so a single generic document list can be misleading.
As a preparation aid, take your existing account reference where relevant and the records the bank has requested. Keep originals and copies organised separately, and make sure you understand which documents are being retained or returned.
State your request in one sentence, such as “I need to update the nomination on this account” or “I want to understand whether I can join this scheme”. That helps the representative direct you to the right form and explain what remains to be completed.
Read costs and consent before enrolling
Insurance and pension products have their own eligibility, payment and benefit conditions. Ask for the current scheme terms, the applicable premium or contribution, any auto-debit consent and the process for keeping the arrangement active.
The Department of Financial Services publishes official information for PMJJBY, PMSBY and APY. Use the relevant scheme page with the bank’s explanation rather than treating all three as interchangeable benefits.
Do not sign a blank form or assume attendance creates insurance cover. Ask what confirmation you will receive, when the requested action takes effect and how to follow up if it remains pending.
Protect access to your account
Keep passwords, PINs and authentication codes under your control. The Kalewal announcement itself includes a warning against sharing account information, OTPs or passwords, reflecting the campaign’s fraud-awareness purpose.
If someone offers help, distinguish assistance with a form from permission to operate your account. Avoid installing a remote-access app or sending identity documents to a personal messaging number simply because the sender claims to represent a camp.
Our scam-message checking guide offers a separate method for examining suspicious messages. Confirm any banking action through the bank before acting on a forwarded link.
Leave with a reference and a next step
Before leaving, ask whether the request is completed, accepted for processing or missing a document. Retain the acknowledgement and note the branch or contact responsible for follow-up.
A productive camp visit ends with a clear record of what was requested and what happens next. If the service is unavailable that day, ask for the correct branch route rather than submitting the same request through several unverified intermediaries.
