Jeevan Pramaan 2026 preparation starts with two checks: your pension scheme’s certificate rules and the current requirements for the device you will use. Generating a Digital Life Certificate and having the correct pension authority accept it are related but separate stages. Keep the Pramaan ID and verify the record after submission.
Updated guidance checked 28 October 2026. Follow the rules of your own pension sanctioning and disbursing authorities.
Jeevan Pramaan 2026: check which dates apply
SBI’s current pension guidance says pensioners aged 80 and above can submit from 1 October 2026, while those below 80 can submit from 1 November. It also confirms that physical life certificates remain an available option. Read SBI’s current guidance.
Do not turn that schedule into a rule for every pension arrangement. EPFO’s guidance for EPS pensioners links annual renewal to the previous certificate’s submission date. See EPFO’s life-certificate circular.
If you are unsure which scheme applies, check the pension record or ask the disbursing authority. A family helper should establish that first, before choosing a date from a forwarded message.
Use the current download requirements
| Route | Current official download-page requirements |
|---|---|
| Android | Android 10 or above, unrooted device |
| iPhone/iPad | iOS 14 or above, unrooted device |
| Face authentication | Jeevan Pramaan and AadhaarFaceRD apps |
| Windows | External fingerprint or iris device is required |
The current Jeevan Pramaan download page says face authentication uses the phone camera and does not require an external biometric device. It lists iOS support for face authentication only.
Some older FAQ text gives different Android requirements. Use the current download page and its linked manual when deciding whether your phone is suitable.
Prepare accurate pension details
The official Jeevan Pramaan FAQ lists identity and self-declared pension information needed for generation, including the PPO and pension-authority details. Incorrect entries can lead to rejection.
Work from the pensioner’s actual records. Check the spelling, PPO number, pension account information and selected authority before completing the process.
Do not publish those records in a support forum or send them to an unknown helper. A description of a technical problem rarely needs the full identity and financial documents to be visible publicly.
Keep generation and acceptance separate
Successful authentication produces a Pramaan ID and an acknowledgement. The FAQ explains that the generated certificate remains subject to the relevant authority’s approval.
Download or inspect the certificate through the official service and check the recorded details and status. A generated ID is useful evidence, but it should not prevent you from noticing a wrong authority selection or rejected record.
| Record | What it helps establish |
|---|---|
| Pramaan ID | Which generated certificate you are checking |
| Certificate details | What information was supplied |
| Acceptance/rejection status | Whether follow-up is needed |
| Authority’s response | What correction or alternative submission is appropriate |
This is an editorial record-keeping worksheet. It is not an additional government submission requirement.
If something goes wrong, identify the stage
A device-compatibility problem, an authentication failure and a rejected pension record need different responses. Note the actual message and the stage at which it appears.
For a rejected certificate, use the pension disbursing authority’s official support route. For application setup, use the current manual or service help information rather than installing an app file supplied through an unsolicited message.
The FAQ also explains that a Pramaan ID is not valid for life. Check the renewal requirements that apply to your pension rather than assuming one successful submission covers future years.
Choose an assisted route when it is more practical
The official service provides centre-based options, and SBI lists branch submission for its pensioners. A suitable assisted route may be easier than repeatedly attempting the process on an incompatible phone.
Before visiting, confirm the centre’s availability and what you need to bring. Do not assume a general campaign announcement means every location offers every service at every time.
For help examining a suspicious forwarded claim, our message-checking guide provides a separate starting point.
Finish with a checked certificate record
Identify the correct pension rules, select a supported submission route and retain the generated record. Then verify the details and acceptance status.
That sequence gives you something concrete to resolve if the authority needs a correction. It also avoids confusing a phone’s successful authentication message with the completion of every pension-related check.
